hanks again guys.... your emails and posts mean a lot to me.
I was psycologically damaged from the warez, I didn't make Lucifer for fat profits but obviously I'd like to be paid at least minimum wage for my time involved, otherwise its get a job (in my case its shift gears in self-employment back to music, as I'm not happy with a 9-to-5, as its not nearly enough work hours... hehe)
I don't want to sell more copies because I don't think its fair to you all. I don't want to answer support emails... 2.1 has glaring bugs that can make you lose your work (on OSX mostly, how ironic!). But I lack the motivation to finish 2.2 right now, I added a lot of amazing new stuff (stepsequencer with per-step velocity/repeats, MIDI out actually works well, monome support, song mode) but my incentive (making a unique product for the elite 'cool' few that buy music software) was taken away.
I just hope everyone understands how big of low-lifes these people are (and I don't mean crackers in general, I mean ArCADE):
- If they had removed the copyprotection then respect for actually doing something, but no, just a shoddy hack-and-theft. They made glaring mistakes on the installation, leading to unwanted sales for me by those that couldn't figure it out).
- No mention of price in the readme. No "BUY THE SOFTWARE YOU USE" type of thing. Therefore this is flat-out terrorism and vandalism at this point.
They don't care if I make a living or not. Therfore in my eye, they don't care about the music making community either. Really not cool.
So I'll put my efforts in creativity elsewhere, for now I'll keep my software to those few professionals I know personally - and maybe global conciousness will be higher next time around.
Best,
Steve
